Wines of the Month at The Grand July/August Edition
Discover two beautifully curated wines we’re pouring this month at Café Grand in Lytham St Annes and The Grand at Grasmere
Here at The Grand, we take our wine seriously, but never too seriously. Whether it's a bottle shared over dinner, a glass enjoyed in a comfy corner, or something chilled on the terrace under a summer sky, great wine is part of how we do hospitality.
Every bottle we serve is handpicked for quality, provenance and value, always aiming to deliver something a little different, and a lot more memorable. Our wine list is carefully curated with our food, our setting and our guests in mind and this month, we’re raising a glass to two standout selections we think you’ll love.
Two beautifully unique wines each with its own story, origin and unmistakable charm. Whether you’re joining us for a summer evening on the terrace or dining in Café Grand, these standout bottles are the perfect pairing for sunshine, good company and exceptional food.
🇪🇸 Villa Iulia Tempranillo Syrah
A Spanish Red with Soul
Hailing from the sun-drenched region of Castilla y León, this Spanish red is a bold yet balanced blend of Tempranillo and Syrah grapes. With aromas of ripe red fruit and liquorice, and a palate that offers soft, ripe tannins and a long, persistent finish, it’s a wine made for relaxed evenings and hearty dishes.
What makes it special?
Crafted by Antonio Florencio Nieto, Villa Iulia is the product of over a decade of global winemaking expertise, refined across eight countries and 16 harvests. His passion for ecologically farmed vineyards shines through in this red, a perfect expression of clay-limestone soils, high-altitude vines and a winemaker who knows how to let the land speak for itself.
We think this wine works great on a summers day when served slightly chilled, if you fancy trying it served this way just ask, we will have a bottle ready on ice.
