What to Expect at Blackpool Air Show 2026

There may be no Red Arrows at this year’s event, but the 2026 line-up certainly isn’t short on spectacular aircraft and thrilling displays.

Here are some of the highlights announced so far:

✈️ RAF Typhoon

Prepare for noise, speed and serious power as the RAF Typhoon takes to the skies.

The Eurofighter Typhoon is one of the RAF’s most impressive fast jets, capable of speeds of more than 1,400mph. Its display promises high-speed passes and dramatic manoeuvres that are sure to have spectators looking skyward.

🛩️ Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

For aviation and history enthusiasts, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is always a highlight.

The 2026 line-up includes the iconic Spitfire, Hurricane and Dakota, offering the chance to see some of the most important aircraft in British aviation history flying above the Blackpool coast.

🪂 The Red Devils

Look out for something a little different as The Red Devils, the British Army’s official parachute display team, take to the skies.

Known for their precision formations and daring freefall manoeuvres, their appearance adds another dimension to an already impressive weekend of aerial entertainment.

🛩️ MiG-17

Step back into the jet age with the MiG-17, a Cold War-era fighter aircraft that remains a rare sight in European skies.

Its distinctive design and powerful presence make this a particularly exciting addition to the 2026 programme.

🇺🇸 US Fighters

Expect a spectacular formation of historic warbirds with the US Fighters display.

The line-up features the P-47 Thunderbolt, P-51 Mustang and Spitfire, bringing together some of the most recognisable aircraft from the Second World War.

✈️ XtremeAir

For pure aerobatic excitement, XtremeAir is one to watch.

Expect loops, rolls, tumbles and gravity-defying manoeuvres from an aircraft designed specifically for competitive aerobatic flying.

🔥 The Ravens

Team Raven brings precision formation flying to Blackpool with a team of six experienced pilots flying Vans RV-8 aircraft.

The team has performed across Europe and is known for combining formation flying with impressive aerobatic manoeuvres.

🪽 Aerobatics Wingwalkers

For something truly spectacular, look out for the Aerobatics Wingwalkers.

Professional wingwalkers perform daring acrobatics and handstands while secured to the wings of Boeing Stearman biplanes, with the aircraft performing loops, rolls and other manoeuvres during the display.

✈️ And More...

The 2026 line-up also includes the Harvard, Hawk, Calidus Autogyro, Yak Trio and Muscle Pitts, ensuring there will be plenty to keep aviation fans entertained across the weekend.

How to Make the Most of Blackpool Air Show

The Blackpool Promenade will undoubtedly be busy across the weekend, so planning your journey in advance is a good idea.

The official event information confirms that the Promenade will be closed to traffic between Chapel Street and Springfield Road each afternoon during the Air Show, with the tramway also closed through this section and operating a split service. Diversion routes will be signposted around the town.

Arriving early is recommended, particularly if you want to find your preferred spot along the seafront before the displays begin.

And, of course, don’t forget the essentials: bring something comfortable to sit on, keep an eye on the weather forecast and look up often – you never know which aircraft might be about to appear overhead!

Why Not Make a Weekend of It?

The Blackpool Air Show is the perfect excuse for a summer escape to the Fylde Coast.

Rather than battling the traffic home after a busy day on the promenade, make a weekend of it and retreat to The Grand Hotel St Annes, just a short drive from Blackpool.

Our elegant coastal hotel offers a chance to slow down after the excitement of the Air Show, with stylish bedrooms, indulgent spa facilities, leisure amenities and dining at Cafe Grand.

Spend the day watching aircraft take to the skies, then return to St Annes for a relaxed drink, dinner and a comfortable night’s sleep.

It’s a rather Grand way to experience one of the Fylde Coast’s most spectacular summer events.

Plan Your Blackpool Air Show 2026 Visit
